Nitpick 1: In some cases the subtitle track doesn't turn on automatically as it seems it should for a subtitle-only title. The menu has a toggle to select subtitle on / off, although it isn't very obvious.

Workaround: Use the subtitle selection button. You may want to check to see if your player has available settings to automatically select audio and sub tracks.

Severity: 1 to 3, it's not a huge issue. My sister's friend had trouble because she's never had to use the subtitle feature before.

Problem 1:	During the first few seconds of the introduction (the same introduction is used for all 4 eps so it happens for all the eps), the intro blacks out for about 1/3 of a second.
Workaround:	?

Players Affected:	Sony DVP-S530SD, A chipped (modded) Sony 525. Apparently the 725 isn't affected.
Severity:	1

Problem 2:	There are subtitle problems associated with computer based DVD players, such as subtitle tracks not getting recognized or displayed.
Workaround:	I have seen WinDVD recommended for problematic Bandai / Cinram discs.

Problem 3:	Sometimes the player stutters or quits and gives up.
Workaround:	Try cleaining the disc or stop, eject disc and restart the DVD. No other workaround is known, and this doesn't always work.

Severity:	Makes a big nuisance to owners of this system, I guess I'll put it at a 3.

Problem 4:	Cowboy Bebop disc 2, end of the 2nd episode stops the disc after the end of the preview on a Pioneer DV-414
Workaround:	?

Severity:	3 - it makes a big nuisance to owners of this system.

Problem 5:	Some Powerbook G3 owners may have noticed that Cowboy Bebop Session 4 gets stuck at the FBI screen, not allowing you to access anything at all.
Workaround:	At the FBI screen (where it gets stuck), hit Enter. This should take you through the Bandai/Sunrise/(new) DD trailers and then to the main menu. Also, I hear if you click the "I" in the FBI preload you can skip the excessive preloaded crap to go straight to the real menu, and this is often the only way to play the DVD competently at all.

Severity:	4 - it makes a big nuisance to owners of this system.

Problem 6:	Some of the covers seem to have incorrect running tomes, some volume 2's have 100 minutes on the cover whereas others more accurately list 125 minutes.

Stephen Gilmour submitted the blackout issue, backed up by a report from Arthur Kosasih. I have read about the sub issues at the Anime on DVD forum. "vampy" posted the third problem. Thanks to Jeff Kleist on the AnimEigo-DVD list for problem #4. Michal a.k.a. mukow, reported the Apple DVD information. "Chavelin" gave me more info on problem #3 and submitted problem #6, a possible packaging error. Anyone willing to backup any claim are welcome to.

If this problem bothers you, please write to Bandai Entertainment expressing dissappointment that the video of this release wasn't up to the typical Bandai video quality.

[update 07/18/2001]: Bandai has announced that they have dropped ComChoice as an authoring house and also will remaster volume 1. When I get a clearer picture of what is going on I will try to make another update.
[update 07/04/2003]: I've forgotten to mention this long ago, but the discs were remastered and swapped.

Cyber City Oedo 808

Problem 1:	Throughout episode 1 you can hear the English audio track playing underneath the Japanese audio track. It gets worse towards the end of the episode where the English track is even louder than the Japanese one.
Workaround:	turn off right speaker or simply return the DVD as defective and wash your hands of it.
