Problem 1:DVDs 1, 2 & 3 are nearly unplayable for people that had problems with S-cry-ed. One person reports that WinDVD 4 won't let it play DVD 1 because of some alleged age rating.
Workaround:
Discs Affected: all of volume 1, 2 & 3
Players Affected: Akai DVPS-760, Apex 500W, Apex 1500, GE-1101P, Mintek DVD-2110, Pioneer DV-414, DV-434, DV-626D; RealPlayer 10, Samsung M101, Sony DVP-S560D some PS2s; Toshiba Win DVD 2.4, 3.1, 4.0 (two reports on 4.0). A GVG brand player was also reported, but the model number is unknown.
Severity: 5
Recalled: no
Last Updated: 2004 Sept 01

Bandai needs to stop having these problems. There is no excuse to repeat the same problems over and over again. If your player has a problem with Please Teacher vol. 4, Yukikaze Platinum Edition Volume 1, Scryed volume 4, or Witch Hunter Robin volume 1, then your chances that this will have a problem for you too.

Hand Maid May
Vendor: Pioneer
DVD Authoring: SpeeDVD
Nitpick 1:The initial start-up menu takes you to "Nanbara's Room" with lots of annoying selections that for the most part get you nowhere. This is said to mimic the Region 2 DVD.
Workaround: 1) when in Nanbara's Room, press the "title" key on your remote to go to the real menu. If your remote doesn't have such a button then:
2) Select Mr. Laaaaarge!, press chapter skip or fast forward to the end and you will get to the menu.
Method #1 skips the menu opening voice.
Discs Affected: volume 1
Players Affected: not a player problem
Severity: 2 to 3, annoying but easy to work around, and it was intended to be that way.
Problem 1:A few players halt or reset when some extras are selected
Workaround: If you can, try upgrading the software or firmware.
Discs Affected: volume 1
Players Affected: only Toshiba SD-1200 reported so far
Severity: 2 to 3
Problem 3:On volume 3, some Apex machines exhibit a picture break-up at 1:34:20
Workaround:
Discs Affected: volume 3
Players Affected: Apex AD-500W, AD-600A and Panasonic A310 were repored
Severity: 1-2 - it is a very mild breakup that affects very few players so far.

Happy Lesson volume 3
Vendor: ADV Films

Problem 1:A subtitle sticks in episode 12 (DVD volume 3, third episode in). Turning the subtitles off and then on does not clear the error.
Workaround: asagiri2040 wrote: "Turning the subs off before the error point, letting the video play past the error point, rewinding to just after the error point, and then turning the subs on does clear the error." Also, skipping to the episode OP clears it, and rewinding back to 0:30 will let you start where you left off with working subtitles.
Discs Affected: volume 3
Players Affected: not a player issue? Intervideo WinDVD 2.3, some Denon, Panasonic DVD-CP72, -RP56, -RP62 and Ulead DVD Player were reported. Pioneer DVL-700, DV-434 and Sony DVP-NS325 did not exhibit this problem.
Severity: medium?

Thanks to asagiri2040 for the initial report, and to Flood and Malrock for the confirmation.

Problem 1: One thing I noticed at 42:58-43:00 is the dub is missing the other side of the phone message, which is there on the sub/jp version. This is pretty confusing as it just sounds like a hang-up phone call rather than leaving a message.
Workaround: Turn on the subs. I think it says something to the effect of "Go to the ninth floor of Flower Hotel"

His and Her Circumstances, volume 1
Vendor: The Right Stuf, Inc.
DVD Authoring: ?
Problem 1:There are various subtitle problems, where the player might not show a subtitle, show it for too long, even in some rare cases, slow or stop the player or crash the player. There is a bug in the DVD authoring software they used where subtitles that appear for less than 12 seconds have corrupted headers.
Workaround: try a differeint player?
Discs Affected: volume #1
Players Affected: I don't know
Severity: depends on how well it plays for the individual
Recalled: no, but I think TRSI said they'd look into redoing this disc after (1) making sure they can get it right and (2) finishing the rest of the series.
Last Updated: 2004 April 24

I think this problem was fixed, and the fixed version is now in circulation. The only way to be sure of having the fixed version is to buy the full collection. I don't know of an exchange program, but one can email TRSI and ask.

Problem 1:Mike Breen reports: "Episode #19, the second-to-last of the disk, when using "Play all" from the menu skips chapters 7 and 8 (the last couple of minutes of the show and the ending credits), so that the priest says to Natsuki "Well, from time to time..." and then jumps to the next episode preview. If I select the episode itself from the menu, it plays all the way through. Here's another bit of wackiness - from "Play all" mode, the episode has a running time of approx 17 minutes, while selecting just the episode from the menu has a full running time of approx 24 minutes."
Workaround: Don't use "play all" mode
Discs Affected: volume 5
Players Affected: not a player issue
Severity: 3+
Problem 2:"Trey" reports: "The english 5.1 track is way out of sync in episode #18. All the other tracks were in sync though."
