Bugs on Anime DVDs: Top Ten

This list covers the problems that have NOT been fixed and are probably the ones that the average fan most likely will run into. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know.

The Notorious:

The original Slayers Box, for wickedly screwed up audio.

Wings of Honneamise, for wickedly screwed up video.

Many of Bandai's Dual Layer DVDs, they do not play in a lot of players.

Spring & Chaos (TokyoPop / ComChoice, for dubtitling and serious video issues)

Bandai Ent. for choosing ComChoice to bring us the substandard video quality of the edited Blue Submarine #6, the edited Gundam Wing Endless Waltz and Crest of the Stars, volume 1. I believe they should not have signed off on these products.

The Annoying:
Ranma OAV box audio swap - hearing Ranma's sound effects going right to left and seeing him fly left to right is disconcerting. Note that there has been a fix announced, I don't have any firm information on how well it is fixed.
Magic Knights Rayearth - some players can't access some of the "omake", a small problem but big to those that don't know how worthless they were.

The Blunders:
The fixed Rurouni Kenshin TV #1 supposedly still has one episode that is audio swapped left to right. Great improvement but one would think that they'd check throughroughly on a fix like this. Some of the gallery art is missing too.

Edit [4/19/2001]: Thanks to Jon Niehof for correcting the RK info. I was working from a source that called the left-right swap an inversion. They are very different problems!
