You're Under Arrest! OVA and TV
Vendor: AnimEigo
DVD Authoring: ?
Problem 1:Some discs have turned out to be bad. A raised or discolored ring might be visible on the shiny side of the DVD. Some people still manage to play them, others see massive pixelization if they can play it.
Workaround: Return discs to where they were purchased, to AnimEigo if it is from the box set
Discs Affected: any of them
Players Affected: does not apply
Severity: 0 to 5, depends on disc
Recalled: not particularly, but AnimEigo will exchange the discs

Problem 1:A lot of players screw up or lock up on the language menu.
Workaround: If you can, set the audio and sub options using the remote control. Also, if you let the music cycle through the menu might unfreeze.
Discs Affected:
Players Affected: Hitachi DVP250U; Panasonic A-120U, A-300, A-310, DVD-A350; Pioneer DVL-700, DV-C302D, DV-C36 codefree; Sony DVP 550, PlayStation2; Toshiba SD 1700, SD-3109, likely more player models
Severity:
Problem 2:There is a lot of artifacting in a scene that has a lot of intentional static in the picture, the artifacting shows up on the characters. It is toward the end of episode 3. A lot of blocking shows up on the dinner scene of episode 5 as well a handfull of other high-motion scenes on the disc in which the screen gets blocky.

Players Affected: not a player issue
Severity: 2
Problem 3:Courtesy of Sean C on the AoD forum:Missing subtitle at 161:05 or so. Ayuko says something to the effect of "Everyone! Watch out!"

Nitpick 1:Each episode has exactly one chapter stop. In a time when most new releases now have five chapter stops (opening, part a, part b, ending and preview), this is unusual and cumbersome, as some people like to skip the openings and endings after they've seen them once or twice, and proper chapter marks are most convenient for doing this.
Workaround: fast forward or punch in the time to skip to
Discs Affected: all
Players Affected: -
Severity: 2
Nitpick 2:The audio track languages aren't marked properly, so selecting the right track by the description is hit-and-miss.

Problem 1:The menu of the Platinum Edition DVD will not load on a Pioneer DV440.
Workaround: The DVD will play if the video track is selected, stay tuned for the title number.
Discs Affected: Platinum Edition volume 1
Players Affected: Pioneer DV440, likely DV444 and Elite DV37.
Severity: won't play properly
Recalled: no
Last Updated: 2004 April 4

This is the third Bandai DVD I have on record for having difficulties with Pioneer's DV440 series players. Maybe it is the fault of the player, but then, I have no record of any other company's DVDs having problems for these players.

Players Affected: all players, but is not a player issue
Severity: for sub watchers, possibly a 5 bug chili
